2026 - POSTPONED
QUEEN OF THE PEAK
2026 - A Note from the organizers:
Every great swell has its rhythmβ¦
There are moments to paddle hard, moments to stand tall, and moments to sit beyond the break - taking in the horizon before chasing the next wave.
The time has come for Queen of the Peak to take a purposeful pause.
When Surf Sister and Shelter Restaurant founded the Queen of the Peak Women's Surf Championships, it wasn't simply to host another contest. It was born from a belief that women deserved more - from competition, from the surf industry, and from the culture surrounding the sport itself. We wanted to create a stage where women could push one another, celebrate one another, and redefine what surfing on the West Coast could look like.
Fifteen years later, we can look back with immense pride and say that together, we've done exactly that.
We've watched the level of surfing rise beyond what we ever imagined. We've seen young groms who first paddled out at Queen of the Peak go on to compete on the world stage. We've witnessed equal prize money become the norm, women's representation become stronger than ever, and a generation of surfers grow up knowing they belong in the lineup.
Tofinoβs surf scene is unlike any other and now the world knows it. More than anything, our culture is community - one rooted in encouragement over ego, progression over comparison, and the belief that when one woman rises, we all do.
That's the true legacy of Queen of the Peak.
While we're incredibly proud of what we've built, we're even more excited by what comes next.
Growth isn't about repeating yesterday. It's about having the courage to pause long enough to ask what's possible tomorrow.
So, rather than rushing into another year, we're choosing to give ourselves the space to dream bigger, think differently, and intentionally shape the next evolution of Queen of the Peak. Not because the story is over, but because the next chapter deserves the same passion, purpose, and imagination that inspired the very first one.
To every competitor, volunteer, judge, coach, sponsor, photographer, family member, beach fan, and believer who has helped carry this event over the past fifteen years- thank you. Queen of the Peak success belongs to you all! Every wave ridden, every beach embraced, every champion crowned, and every friendship formed has been part of something far greater than a surf contest. Together, we've changed the landscape of women's surfing and itβs now time to envision where it can go next.
This isn't a goodbye, weβre just between sets.
Events
Our mission is simple: to showcase and elevate the level of surfing in Canada. We celebrate what makes our surf scene unique and hope to inspire the next generation of wave warriors.
Results
We crown champions and raise the bar of what it takes to be a winner. Each year we honour the top athletes with prizes and provide a platform for surfers to show off their talent.
